Lady J - General Writing & Comm Updates for 2024

It’s been a while, I hope you’ve all been doing well. 💜 popping by with my first batch of updates in a while, so it’s a reeeally long one. Please feel free to read through this if you’re looking for Commission Opening Updates. If not, thanks for having me in your inbox either way! 💖🥹

I’ve been in grind mode trying to finish my last 6 comms in queue until year’s end. I’ve been a bit more on my A game lately since things have been getting a bit calmer in my life, so with all due luck, I’ll be able to finish up before the holidays start! To that end, I wanted to update a few things as detailed below:

• I will be opening commissions again for general fics in January, and have updated my comm prices to reflect this opening! It’s been about a year since I’ve last opened, so my prices have been adjusted to reflect not only the passing of said time but also the improved quality of my work. I took some extra time this year to better refine my fics and writing style, and while it definitely took much longer than normal to get through my queue, I believe the quality of the work has reflected the efforts I made, and I hope I’ll be able to make some better pieces in the months more to come!

  • If you’re into FF16 Warfield fics I can also do comms for them now too 💗 please feel free if you're looking for something specific!

• Patreon benefits have been adjusted and improved to reflect the upcoming commission prices. The comm tiers are still limited as they’re meant to be utilized for those benefits, but please feel free to sign up should you wish to avail of those said benefits.

  • Currently, I have 3 Comm slots open at this time, and again the benefits roll over into your comm request, provided you’ve been a supporter for 3 months at that tier specifically.

  • If the tier sells out but you’d like those benefits specifically, please feel free to DM me on Twitter. I’m not sure if I can necessarily open more slots but we’ll see what we can do if ever.

• I opened up some emergency short comms a few weeks ago when I needed some extra funds ( I adopted a lil bunny ), they started out as Patreon Milestone rewards and now are short drabbles that act as introductions, either for your OC’s or for a vibe between two characters and their dynamic. I’ll pop the graphics for what these are down below for future reference in case you all are interested.

  • You can follow me on ko-fi if you’d like email updates on when these open, and also if you’d like to see the samples of what these actually look like. • Again, I’m on my last 6 comms from my current queue, and hopefully next year I’ll be able to open more batches, but with a lesser waiting period between them.

  • During an interest check on Twitter a few days ago, I was more or less advised that I could expect to have about 30+(!!) comm requests coming in!! And as honored as I was to see it ( especially with Twitter breaking down and everyone moving to different sections of the internet world ;_; ) unfortunately I am only one person doing the editing and the writing and the plotting of all of these, so I don’t believe I’ll be able to take everyone’s request even if I did do them all throughout the year 🥹 nonetheless, I really hope I can fulfill as many as I can. I’ll do my best!

• Finally, regarding my own personal fics… I’m catching up to them, as best I can! I was able to do WolGraha week this year but unfortunately haven’t finished the last one because its a smut piece I’m wanting to take my time on… I’m also looking into more Warfield fics and in general just doing more JazzRaha when I get the chance.

  • I held another poll last week for which fic to focus on and everyone wanted the soft G’raha piece the most, so that’s what I’m looking at these days when I get the chance lol!

  • Beyond that, next month is the second anniversary of the Vampire fic and unfortunately, it's still.... on chapter 10 lol. But hopefully next year with a better writing schedule in place, I will be able to reach chapter 20 by the third anniversary. The lore and worldbuilding I put together for it is very long and important to me, so I will do what I can to share when I get the chance!!

• Lastly, I’m on Bluesky! Under itsladyj.bsky.social because they wouldn’t take my _ in my Twitter name lololol. You can follow me there if you’d like to see the newest stuff, or oldest stuff because I’m uploading old fics and comms. I hope to see you guys there!

I tried to make things as fair as possible to everyone involved, I do hope these are considered good benefits in the long run.

If I’m able to go through with this pricing, it will allow me to not only rest more and write more general, personal fic, but also to do more fic giveaways if possible because I’m not hurting for funds all the time. My real life admittedly took a hit in that regard lately so I’m trying to recoup as much as I can. I didn’t quite mean to make this into my full-time job, but since moving overseas and being unable to get an interview for anything else, it’s the one thing that’s given me so much joy these past few years, and I genuinely can’t think of doing anything better. So thank you!
